The new 5G-CARE project from Byteflies and Citymesh introduces a new phase of telemonitoring in healthcare. With 5G connectivity and real-time data processing, patients can be better monitored at home or on the go, which is crucial for timely diagnoses and efficient care.
The project combines Citymesh's technological expertise as a network operator with the telemonitoring know-how of Byteflies, which develops advanced solutions for the continuous monitoring of patients. Together, they are building a future in which care is no longer confined to hospital walls.
Through three innovations, we demonstrate the potential of 5G-enabled telemetry in 5G-CARE:
- Connected envelope: Byteflies' Holter monitor sends ECG data to the cloud in real time via an integrated transmitter while the envelope is in the mail. This speeds up the analysis process from 7 to 2 days, with faster diagnosis and less data loss.
- Always connected patient: a 5G wearable hub acts as a mobile hub for medical data, allowing doctors to continuously monitor patients, regardless of their location.
- Swift emergency response: drones, AI, and edge computing ensure faster response times in emergency situations. By automatically locating patients and delivering AEDs or medication, this concept increases survival rates.
With 5G-CARE, Byteflies and Citymesh are paving the way for a transmural care model that prioritizes the patient, supported by advanced technology. This collaboration demonstrates that 5G is not just faster internet, but also serves as a life-saving link in digital healthcare.
